Resumen del Libro:
This dissertation explores the literary writing of violence as excess that, by manifesting itself in ironic or sometimes parodic modes, is able to acquire a political significance. This significance stems from its capacity to go beyond normalizing and totalizing discourses that propose unitary and ideal conceptions of nation, community and identity. By incorporating violence as excess and by articulating a specific rhetoric based on irony and parody, literature is able to intervene in politics and ethics by dislocating binary structures and positing new modes of subjectivity.
