Resumen del Libro:
The study answered the question: What level of declaratory and procedural knowledge concerning community self-determination was had by participants in the Cantera Peninsula Project? A descriptive-analytic design for case study was used as well as qualitative measures. The sample was intentional and theoretical. Findings revealed that the participants had a low percentage of declaratory and procedural knowledge concerning community self-determination. Both, the residents and community organizations tested demonstrated the highest percentages while government officials obtained the lowest percentage of declaratory and procedural knowledge concerning community self-determination. Final recommendations included studying different self-determination strategies, formulating creative projects, modifying Public Law 20, and integrating the practice of social work in community development projects.
